New Protoss Units Announced!

With the launch of the new website http://www.starcraft2.com, Blizzard released the following information on the new protoss units.

My Life For Auir!

Zealot
The zealot is back and better than ever. From gameplay video’s it seems the zealot is a lot quicker when attacking enemies. It seems as though when they see an enemy they ‘sprint’ toward it and attack with an epic proportion. From the Zealot page at Starcraft2.com, “Some Zealots have even developed the ability to turn their body into pure energy for a few microseconds. This allows them to move at lightning fast speeds and strike suddenly against an enemy that thinks they are out of range.” Hints that this burst of energy is a new Zealot ability. The Zealot will be built from the gateway, like all ground units.

Dragoons now Immortal!
Immortal
The Immortal is the new Dragoon. Blizzard tells us that “… the immortals, refitted with twin phase disruptors and hardened energy shields that can shrug off the most powerful weapon strikes – though at the cost of leaving them more vulnerable to the pinprick attacks of lesser foes. The heavily armed and shielded immortals give critical fire support to the ferocious legions of zealots by eliminating enemy artillery and ranged attackers, allowing the zealots to close in and complete their work of destruction.” This makes me even more excited! These new units look so badass in battle its not even funny. Seeing them in the gameplay video makes me feel like i’m watching Star Wars Episode 1 all over again! Also built from the Gateway.

The Dark Templar Reborn
Stalker
The famous cunning creatures known as the Dark Templar have retired from the battle. They were inspired by the creation of the Dragoon exoskeleton have implanted themselves into their new machinery known as the Stalker. In my opinion the Stalker is the Warden (From WC3:FT) reborn. The unit has a teleport or blink ability allowing it to easily escape conflict, to pounce on a retreating foe or to gain the high ground for a better line of sight. The stalker also has a deadly particle disrupter that allows it to attack units on the ground OR the air.

Shuttle + Pylon = Phase Prism
Phase Prism

The Phase Prism acts in two ways, firstly it acts as the new shuttle, able to transport units and drop them off.
Secondly, it acts as a temporary pylon. You could deploy the Phase Prism on the battle field and it would allow building rights and power to any builds or be used when a highly important pylon is destroyed. Previously in Starcraft only the terran were able to build outside their “sphere of influence”. Could this mean that the zerg are getting a special building or unit that enables them to spawn creep? This will be built at the robotics factory.
